PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As the design-builder, IAP Design Build completed the renovation and addition of the battalion headquarters in Starship Barracks Buildings 3105 and 3335 (105,000 sq. ft. each). For this project, the existing dining facilities in each building was converted into organizational classrooms, storage space, and latrines. The battalion headquarters space was also expanded to house additional administrative areas and conference rooms.
All hazardous material uncovered during the project was abated under proper supervision and in accordance with USACE EM365-1-1 Manual.
Energy saving strategies were utilized on the building envelope, HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems. The sustainable approach emphasized long-term durability, maintainability, and energy efficiency.
LEEDTM SILVER PROJECT
This project qualified for the USGBC's Silver LEED certification, meaning this project incorporates healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green features.
